Ladurée Macaron, emblematic product

For the very first time in the history of Greek gastronomy, Luxury Concierge & Greek Luxury Products are introducing a selected variety of Ladurée products at the heart of Athens. Starting from the 10th of January 2018 our Hilton Athens flagship store will play host to the most famous macaron brand in the world as part of a collective effort that is aiming to introduce a variety of world-renowned luxury gourmet brands to the Greek market.

The Ladurée brand was created in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a man from France’s southwest, created a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale. The same year, the first stone of the Garnier Opera House was laid, and the area surrounding the Madeleine was rapidly developing into one of the capital’s most important and elegant business districts. The most prestigious names in French luxury items had already taken up residence in this neighbourhood. The story of the Ladurée macaron starts in the middle of the 20th century with Pierre Desfontaines, who first thought of taking two macaron shells and joining them with a delicious ganache filling. The recipe has not changed since.

After being purchased by the Holder family in 1993, Ladurée has essentialy become a world-renowned brand  with multiple stores at some of the most prestigious locations throughout the world such as Avenue De Champs-Elysées, Harrods in London, New York’s Madison Avenue, Cannes, St. Tropez  and Dubai.
